Background: Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy; an active, directive, time limited and structured clinical approach used to assess and treat a variety of psychological disorders including:  

Anxiety and Stress related disorders       
Depression 
Phobias 
Pain problems

Based on an underlying theoretical rationale that an individual’s mood and behaviour is largely determined by the way he or she structures the world. Highly positive outcomes can be achieved for both employees and employer, within a time limited period, depending on the severity of the condition. 

Cognitive techniques are aimed at identifying and challenging an individual patient’s specific and learned irrational assumptions. The approach is designed to teach how an individual can recognise connections between cognition, affect  and behaviour then to substitute more reality –orientated interpretations for their biased thoughts.  

Clients, and  referred staff, gain access to very experienced and professional Cognitive  Behavioural Psychotherapists who work with them to achieve best possible outcomes. 

We will also provide case advice which can be used by management and occupational health personnel to make decisions about employability under the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) and employment law.
